The Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS) invites scholars to participate in a virtual workshop focused on creating policy impact through Information Systems (IS) research. The goal of the workshop is to foster dialogue
and generate ideas about translating IS research into policy influence. In an era where IS have become deeply woven into the fabric of society, their influence extends into everyday activities of citizens and governments and are fundamentally transforming
how individuals live, organizations and economic markets operate, and governments function. Such digital transformation presents complex challenges that demand thoughtful policy responses. Despite the profound impact of IS on institutional structures and societal
norms, there remains an important gap between insights from IS research and policy formation. Rapidly evolving IS such as generative AI, autonomous systems, social media, and digital platforms raise urgent questions about governance, equity, and societal well-being
that require careful consideration from both research and policy perspectives. We invite interested IS colleagues to this collaborative effort to strengthen the voice of Information Systems research in policy discussions and create meaningful impact in the
policy-making process. The scope of IS research and policy implications can be within or across levels: individual (e.g., privacy, digital rights, user behavior); organizational (e.g., digital transformation, compliance, governance); macro (e.g., digital infrastructure,
cybersecurity, platform regulation).
