Post-Doc Opportunities with IS Researchers at UVA McIntire School of Commerce

We're excited to share two post-doc research fellowships that are available
to work with Information Systems researchers from the University of
Virginia McIntire School of Commerce. Both are two-year positions based in
Charlottesville, Virginia. These positions will sponsor applicants for work
visas.


The first open position is to work directly with Brent Kitchens and
collaborators on the impacts of misinformation and other aspects of online
information quality on mental health and other outcomes for young adults. (

   Flexible starting date, with target of summer of 2025

   Project funded by the Thriving Youth in Digital Environment grand
   challenge

   Will have an opportunity for regular interaction with other IT scholars
   in the area, another post-doc fellow working on a closely related project,
   and other post-docs across campus.

   Position will include access to large-scale behavioral clickstream and
   search data for observational analysis:

The second open position is to work on a self-identified project at the
intersection of DT and Democracy with mentorship by Steven L. Johnson
and/or other lab leads. Projects can encompass a wide range of topics,
methods, and disciplines. (

   Will join a cohort of post-doc fellow working in the DT & Democracy lab,
   including six who started in August, 2024 and a second cohort starting in
   August, 2025.

   Application deadline is January 15, 2025, with an expectation of final
   decisions made by March 1st, 2025.
