Dear Colleagues,
The Governance of Human-AI Interactions in VR Platforms mini-track (SIGHCI) welcomes your submissions to the AMCIS 2025 conference in Montreal, Canada.
Description:
As advances in AI and VR make these technologies increasingly intertwined, they reshape the way individuals interact with immersive platforms and each other. Such developments pose unprecedented opportunities as well as significant ethical challenges for both research and practice. We invite submissions seeking to explore the intersection of technology, ethics, and governance within immersive platforms. We are particularly interested in research that examines the ethical implications of user interactions with human-like AI agents and the governance mechanism necessary to ensure the development of responsible and equitable digital platforms. We welcome contributions from a range of perspectives that provide theoretical insights, empirical evidence, and practical solutions to the ethical dilemmas posed by the intersectionality of digital technologies. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• The ethical considerations that influence the behavior and decision-making of individuals within immersive VR platforms
• The role of AI in enhancing or compromising the experiences of individuals in immersive platforms
• Governance mechanisms for ensuring responsible and equitable use of these technologies
• The implications of human-like AI agents in immersive platforms
• Ethical AI design in immersive platforms
We encourage interdisciplinary research that bridges the fields of information systems, human-computer interaction, ethics, and psychology. We welcome submissions that offer valuable insights and contribute to the ongoing discourse on creating responsible and inclusive immersive platforms.
