Dear Colleagues,
The SIGADIT community at AMCIS 2025 will be offering a mini track focused on the Human Factors in Information Privacy & Security. This Mini Track is a window for researchers to share their ideas with the community and motivate constructive conversations to promote the advancement of knowledge around the psychological aspect of privacy and security issues.
The successful design and implementation of privacy and security strategies depends on a diversity of perspectives. This mini-track highlights the importance of exploring how various factors—cultural values, social pressures, stress, perceptions of organizational-strategies, attitudes toward regulatory frameworks, and innovations—shape the adoption, adaptation, or resistance to information technologies. We are interested in research that deepens our understanding of how individuals navigate privacy and security concerns, factors driving their decisions, impact of AI on personal data protection, factors enabling privacy and security, and those that inadvertently facilitate adversarial actions. This forum encourages discussions on privacy and security in areas like smart technologies, AI-driven solutions, and IoT devices. We also invite research focused on Security Education and Awareness Training (SETA). To foster a global discussion of these important issues and to stimulate a broad dialogue on these pressing issues, this mini track is open to both quantitative and qualitative research.
We welcome all ideas within the domain of information privacy and security and with effects on the adoption, adaptation, and resistance to information technologies, in the following directions (but not limited to them):
* The dual role of AI decision-making in mitigating security threats while potentially facilitating adversarial actions.
* Human behaviors and attitudes impacting information privacy and security
* Cultural nuances in perceptions of information privacy and security.
* The short-term and long-term effects of information privacy and security threats.
* Challenges in the information privacy and security in relation to AI-driven solutions, smart tech, and IoT devices.
* Peers' behavior influence in information privacy and security users’ decisions.
* Information privacy and security policies and compliance.
* Ethical factors such as transparency or fairness influencing information privacy and security decisions.
* Stress and anxiety due to information privacy and security issues.
* Privacy and security regulations such as information/data ownership and profiling.
* Recovery mechanisms such as coping and resilience to information privacy and security issues.
* Operationalization of single and multi-dimensional constructs such as concern, control, coping, etc.
* Context-specific information privacy and security concerns.
Mini Track Description: https://amcis2025.aisconferences.org/submissions/track-descriptions<https://amcis2025.aisconferences.org/submissions/track-descriptions/>/
Important Dates: Jan 5th, 2025: Manuscript submission opens; Feb 28th, 2025: Submissions are due at 5 pm (New York Time); May ~1st: Final decisions for authors
In the interest of discussing the most current research in this area and following AMCIS 2025 guidelines, we welcome:
* Completed Research Papers – CR (10 pages, ~5,000 words)
* Emergent Research Forum Papers – ERF (5 pages, ~2,500 words)
* Papers must conform to the submission templates<https://amcis2025.aisconferences.org/submissions/types-of-submissions/>.
* Submissions should be sent electronically to the system<https://new.precisionconference.com/>.
All submissions will be peer-reviewed using a double-blind system. Papers should not have been published previously in proceedings or journals, nor be under review elsewhere. It is the general objective of the mini track that after significant updating, papers will be submitted to a premier outlet. Thus, accepted Completed Research Papers to the mini track will be published in their entirety in the conference proceedings. Authors of accepted Emergent Research Forum Papers (research-in-progress) may submit an abstract for publication in the proceedings OR a revised paper. For past proceedings see: https://aisel.aisnet.org/amcis/
Questions regarding paper submissions can be sent to: acanobej at nmsu.edu, ilja.nastjuk at wiwi.uni-goettingen.de, simon.trang at wiwi.uni-goettingen.de. At least one author must register and attend the workshop to present the paper and a brief video presentation for CRP and ERF paper will be required if the work is accepted.
We invite you to share your ideas and obtain relevant feedback to further develop your manuscript!
Best,
