*CALL FOR PAPERS*
AMCIS 2025 - Americas Conference on Information Systems
"Intelligent Technologies for a Better Future"
Conference Dates: August 14–16, 2025 | Location: Montreal, Canada
*Track: Green IS and Sustainability*
*Mini-Track: Role of Information Technologies in Enhancing Climate
Adaptation*
*MINI-TRACK DESCRIPTION*
Advanced information technologies are essential in promoting climate
adaptation and sustainability. AI, Machine Learning (ML), IoT, Blockchain,
AR, Robotics, and Edge Computing are key tools in addressing climate
change, environmental management, and resource optimization. These
technologies automate processes, generate real-time insights, and enhance
decision-making for more sustainable outcomes.
AI and ML help predict climate patterns, optimize energy consumption, and
monitor biodiversity. The IoT facilitates real-time tracking of
environmental factors, creating interconnected ecosystems for sustainable
cities. Blockchain improves supply chain transparency, while edge computing
reduces energy consumption by processing data locally. These technologies,
alongside decentralized systems and digital platforms, also promote
community-led resilience and equitable access to environmental solutions.
Aligned with the UN’s SDG 13, these innovations monitor and mitigate
environmental risks, safeguard ecosystems, and advance sustainable
development. From big data analytics to robotics, these tools are shaping a
more resilient and inclusive future. We invite research that examines the
intersection of intelligent technologies and climate adaptation, including
theoretical, empirical, and design science perspectives. We welcome
contributions that explore cutting-edge approaches to leveraging
information technologies for a more sustainable and resilient future.
