The Department of Computer Information Systems in the College of Business at Colorado State University invites applications for a 2-year Postdoctoral Fellow position. We may hire postdoctoral fellows from an applicant pool from time to time. Postdoctoral fellows may be hired for the Fall or Spring semester in a given academic year. Applications will be accepted throughout the calendar year. Hiring decisions are normally made during the late Spring and throughout the Summer for the Fall semester and during the Fall semester for the Spring semester.

The College of Business (COB) has prioritized impactful, informative research addressing the intersections between business, society, and the environment. It also values excellence, as reflected in rigorous research published in top disciplinary journals. The post-doctoral fellow is expected to conduct research in collaboration with the CIS faculty, leading to scholarly publications in leading academic journals, along with teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in information systems. The teaching load and course assignments are made by the Department Chair, but the post-doc will typically teach two classes per academic year for the duration of the position. They will also be expected to advance the Department’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Candidates are required to:

  *   Hold a Ph.D. in Computer Information Systems or a related field from an accredited institution by the time their employment as a postdoctoral fellow starts. To be considered, candidates must provide convincing evidence that their doctorate degree will be completed prior to the start of their fellowship. The hiring authority will verify this by contacting the graduate school of the individual’s program.
  *   Present an established record of empirical research that is targeted to or published in top-tier, peer-reviewed, academic journals in the field of information systems.
  *   Have an interest and ability to effectively teach courses in one or more of the following areas: business information systems, business analytics, database management, systems analysis and design, computer programming, web/mobile application development, cybersecurity, computer networking, machine learning, AI, ERP, and cloud computing.
  *   Conduct research with colleagues.
  *   Have strong data analytics skills, including the ability to work with large sets of structured and unstructured data.

The preference will be given to candidates who:

  *   Aspire to develop research programs that address the development, management, and impact of digital technologies, such as applications and impact of AI, digital platforms, digitalization, social media and online communication, future of work, development, management, and use of information systems, data analytics, and information assurance and security.
  *   Have strong expertise in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods, with the ability to translate the results of empirical analysis in novel and urgent areas.
  *   Complement our research strengths while bringing new dimensions to our research profile.
  *   Be able to work effectively in a department that places significant emphasis on interdisciplinary interaction and integration.
  *   Have experience working collegially.
