*Clinical Assistant Professor (Non-Tenure Track) *

The Department of Business Information Systems and Operations Management
(BISOM), one of six departments in the Belk College of Business at the
University of North Carolina at Charlotte, invites applications for a
full-time position as a Clinical Assistant Professor, beginning in the Fall
2025 semester. The selected candidate must hold a Ph.D. or Doctorate in
Information Systems (IS) or a closely related field from an appropriately
accredited program and must meet professional and/or academic
qualifications as defined in the Belk College Policy on Academic &
Professional Qualifications: (Belk College Policy on Qualified Faculty
Status).

The teaching load consists of four courses per semester, which may include
undergraduate or graduate courses in MIS, Business Analytics, and the
interdisciplinary Masters in Data Science and Business Analytics. In
addition to teaching, Clinical faculty are expected to participate in
research appropriate for their rank, with an emphasis on generating new
knowledge or synthesizing/integrating existing knowledge. The level of
research involvement will be in line with the College’s Faculty
Qualification Standards for Clinical Faculty. The candidate will be
expected to participate and contribute to departmental, college, and
University service activities.

*Qualifications *

The Department is particularly interested in candidates whose academic
background and professional qualifications span Information Systems (IS)
and Business Analytics (BA). Candidates must have a good understanding of
the use of information systems. A background in business analytics,
including programming languages such as R and Python, will be considered a
plus. Prior teaching experience in one or more of these areas is desirable.
Other desired requirements include an ability to contribute to strategic
initiatives of the department, college, and university.

This is a full-time non-tenure track position with an initial three-year
contract. The salary is competitive. Subsequent contracts will be based on
performance, departmental needs, and the College’s funding availability.
