Minitrack: IS Leadership for Sustainability: Strategies, Innovations, and Impacts
Track: Green IS and Sustainability

DESCRIPTION
The impact of digital technologies on environmental sustainability and social responsibility represents a critical concern for organizations worldwide. IS leaders, including CIOs, CDOs, and other IS executives, are uniquely positioned to facilitate the implementation of sustainable practices through the innovative use of information systems. As sustainability becomes increasingly central to corporate strategy, IS leaders face the complex task of leveraging digital technologies to enable environmental and social initiatives while ensuring business value.

This minitrack provides a forum for the presentation and discussion of research examining the role of IS leadership in fostering organizational sustainability and addressing global environmental and social challenges. We welcome submissions that bridge the gap between IS leadership theory and sustainability practice, offering actionable insights for IS executives seeking to enhance their organizations' environmental and social impact.

TOPICS OF INTEREST
Research topics include, but are not limited to:

  *   IS executive strategies for aligning digital initiatives with sustainability goals (e.g., UN SDGs)
  *   Impact of IS leadership structures on organizational sustainability outcomes
  *   Green IT and Green IS implementation strategies and their effectiveness
  *   IS-enabled measurement, reporting, and management of sustainability performance
  *   Integration of sustainability principles into IS governance and strategy
  *   The role of IS leadership in fostering sustainability-oriented innovation
  *   IS strategies for cultivating environmental and social responsibility
  *   Stakeholder engagement and collaboration in IS-driven sustainability efforts
  *   Cross-functional leadership approaches to integrating IS and sustainability strategies
  *   Leveraging emerging technologies (AI, IoT, blockchain) for sustainability
  *   Digital sustainability innovations for credit provision and other financial services

SUBMISSION TYPES AND GUIDELINES

  *   Completed Research Papers: Maximum 10 pages (approximately 5,000 words)
  *   Emergent Research Forum (ERF) Papers: Maximum 5 pages (approximately 2,500 words)

All submissions must conform to the AMCIS 2025 submission template and will undergo double-blind peer review.

  *   Submission Deadline: February 28, 2025, 5:00 PM ET
