*CALL FOR PAPERS*
AMCIS 2025
Intelligent Technologies for a Better Future
Montreal, Canada
August 14 – 16, 2025
*MINI-TRACK: *Exploring IT, Role, and Social Identities in IT Adoption and
Use
TRACK: Adoption and Diffusion of IT (SIGADIT)
*DESCRIPTION*
Information technology (IT) use is a vital link between IT investments and
organizational performance, prompting IS researchers to focus on the
adoption, diffusion, and utilization of IT by individuals. Recent
advancements have deepened our understanding of how IT, role, and social
identities shape—and are shaped—by interactions with IT. IT identity, the
extent to which an individual views the use of IT as integral to their
sense of self, offers valuable insights into IT adoption and use. Role and
social identities similarly influence how individuals engage with IT,
especially as these identities evolve through relationships with technology.
This mini track invites research exploring the intersection of IT, role,
and social identities with IT adoption and use. Contributions that examine
how these identities are formed, maintained, and transformed through
interactions with IT are encouraged. We welcome research using a variety of
methodologies and at all levels of analysis.
