MINI-TRACK: Navigating theDigital Frontier: Embracing Responsible Technology Adoption and Governance inTransformation

 

DESCRIPTION

Technological advancements areaccelerating rapidly, offering immense potential but also significant risks ofmismanagement, failure, and obsolescence. Firms must identify their goals,structures, and resources to select technologies for digital transformationresponsibly. A responsible mindset and structured approach help organizationsnavigate trends and strategize effectively, with governance at the core.
Although digital governance is widely discussed in boardrooms, evidence of itsimpact on organizational effectiveness and performance is limited. Effectivegovernance mechanisms, such as modernizing information architectures, planningand monitoring, information technology (IT) service delivery pipelines, anddecision-making paradigms, can benefit firms. Yet, organizations often needhelp with challenges like resistance to change, misalignment with businessgoals, and data management complexities, which can be mitigated throughstructured, ethical approaches.

This minitrack provides a forumfor sharing research and best practices on responsible technology use andgovernance, emphasizing the balance of innovation with accountability tomaximize digital transformation benefits.

 

SUBMISSION TYPES 

Completed Research Papers mustnot exceed 10 pages (approx. 5,000 words) 

Emergent Research Forum (ERF)papers must not exceed 5 pages (approx. 2,500 words) 

All submissions must conform tothe AMCIS 2025 submission template and will be peer-reviewed using adouble-blind system.

 

TENTATIVE TIMELINES 

January 13, 2025: Manuscriptsubmissions for AMCIS 2025 begin 

February 28, 2025: Completedresearch and ERF submissions are due at 5 pm ET (New York)
