*Inviting Mentee Applications to the 2025 AIS Career Mentoring Program
until Feb. 7, 2025*

*Do not reply to AIS World-- see below*

*** AIS Senior Scholars and previous mentors are on bcc for better
information -- hoping that they will all help spread the word ***

The AIS Mentoring Committee (Jane Fedorowicz, Atreyi Kankanhalli, Wynne
Chin, Helmut Krcmar, and Claudia Loebbecke) *kindly invites you to apply
for the 2025 AIS Career Mentoring Program! It only takes a reply to this
mail!*

After the successful 2024 program (thanks to ALL involved!) is just before
the 2025 version … We will more or less repeat the successful 2024 model; this
is the plan for 2025:

Until February 7, 2025, we welcome* mentee applications (PLEASE SREAD THE
WORD!)*. To apply, it only takes *one eMail
to claudia.loebbecke at uni-koeln.de <claudia.loebbecke at uni-koeln.de> (NOT to
AISWorld) *with your first name, last name, academic institution, and
institutional e-mail address

stating that you

(1) wish to participate,

(2) are IS faculty member (we are not picky, all mentors are related to IS)

(3) are in a *minority* position (gender, religion, race, sexual
orientation, handicap, etc.) *OR* *non-tenured* in your current school /
environment (we will not check minority status, but try to check tenure
status)

(4) are *NOT* a PhD student (we will check)

(5) have *not yet (co)published* in MISQ, ISR, JAIS, or JMIS (we will
check).

Mentees may have participated in the AIS Career Mentoring before; they
would get a different mentor.

*It is easy: One such mail with all elements and NOT sent to AIS World by
February 7, 2025, and you are in the drawing drum! Please do not omit any
of the above points.*

After February 7, we will polish the list. *During February (date tbd.) we
will randomly draw mentor/mentee pairs.* The drawing will be online and
open; so it is possible, but by no means necessary to attend. We will show
only names; it is important that nobody feels that we manipulated the
drawing.

Please note that the AIS Career Mentoring Program is an additional goodie
offered by AIS Senior Scholars and friends (all to be appreciated later). *The
smaller number, either volunteering mentors or applying/accepted mentees,
will define the number of pairs*. Likely, not everybody will be matched.
There will be only one round, no follow-up for non-drawn persons. Again,
this is a voluntary goodie form and for all involved!

*Drawn mentor / mentee pairs will receive their respective contact details
soon after the drawing. *They shall then meet online for about an hour at a
mutually convenient time, ideally within the 4 weeks after the matching.
After that, it will be completely open to mentee and mentor how to proceed!
Some pairs will interact frequently and stay in touch forever, others will
give up earlier. We can offer some suggestions based on previous experiences,
however, we know that all mentors have solid mentoring experience and we
somehow expect that most mentees will come with some questions or concerns.

By mid-November 2025, *mentees should send a standardized very short report*,
so that -- during ICIS 2025 -- we can inform AIS Senior Scholars and the
crowd about a hopefully successful and helpful program as another small
diamond in the AIS portfolio.

Looking forward to drowning in applications to the 2025 AIS Career
Mentoring Program, I ask you to kindly spread the word,

Best wishes - Claudia (Loebbecke)

P.S.: In parallel, we are *undertaking some efforts for gaining mentors* to
the 2025 AIS Career Mentoring Program -- it looks promising, but it is
never enough! If some full professor or senior associate professor, AIS
member, would be ready to volunteer, pls. send an eMail to
claudia.loebbecke at uni-koeln.de. Mentees, organizing committee, and the AIS
shall be grateful.

[sent for the AIS Mentoring Committee 2025, Wynne Chin, Jane Fedorowicz,
Atreyi Kankanhalli, Helmut Krcmar, and Claudia Loebbecke - the latter in
charge of all mistakes!]
