Exploring AI's Transformative Role in Organizations
Artificial Intelligence (AI) – encompassing algorithms, chatbots, robotics, smart sensors, and Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT – is driving fundamental transformations in organizations. These intelligent technologies, distinct in their agentic capabilities and learning abilities, are reshaping organizational structures, strategy, and work practices. This handbook critically examines AI’s evolving role in organizational transformation, analyzing its effects on decision-making, work dynamics, and ethical concerns.

Handbook structure:
Part I: AI and Organizational Strategy.
Topics include but are not limited to:

How AI is reshaping decision-making, agility, and competitive positioning.
  *
AI-based strategic transformation frameworks.
  *
Governance structures for responsible AI deployment.

Part II: AI’s Impact on Work and People
Topics include but are not limited to:

  *
Changes in job roles, skill requirements, and human-machine collaboration.
  *
Ethical concerns: transparency, fairness, and bias in algorithmic systems.
  *
AI’s influence on workplace culture and occupational identity.

Part III: The Future of AI in Organizations
Topics include but are not limited to:

  *
Open-source collaboration, regulatory frameworks, and sustainability.

AI’s role in decentralized and networked organizational structures.
  *
Global operations and supply chain transformations.

Submission Timeline

  *
30 April 2025 – Call for chapter proposals (500-word abstract) closes.
  *
31 May 2025 – Authors notified of decisions.
  *
01 September 2025 – First draft of chapter due.
  *
01 March 2026 – Revised draft submission.
  *
01 June 2026 – Minor revisions finalized.
  *
01 August 2026 – Accepted chapters delivered.
  *
Publication estimated for late 2026.

This interdisciplinary handbook will provide a comprehensive understanding of AI’s transformative potential for organizations. We invite scholars and practitioners to contribute to this essential volume on AI and organizational transformation.
